Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Dominican Republic Q4 2024

During the fourth quarter of 2024, the Dominican Republic saw significant activity in the maps and navigation app sector. Here, we explore the performance of the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Rides with fair fares experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 14.8K in early October and peaking at around 20.9K by late December. The app's weekly active users also saw a consistent rise from 301K to 375K over the same period.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady download rate, beginning at about 11K and reaching nearly 14.7K by mid-December, before ending the year at 12K. Active users fluctuated, with an upward trend peaking at 954K in mid-December.

Phone Locator: Family Location saw its downloads peak early at 14.1K in October, followed by a gradual decline to 3.4K by the end of December. Active user numbers followed a similar pattern, rising to 21K in October and stabilizing around 14K by year-end.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 8.8K to 10.1K mid-quarter. Its active users peaked at 511K in early December and remained robust throughout the quarter.

Finally, Phone Tracker and GPS Location recorded its highest downloads at 8.8K in early October, decreasing to 4.1K by December. Active users showed a modest decline from 18K to 16.7K over the quarter.
